Some 580 students voted in the election held in May. Papandrikopoulos, who finished the balloting with 202 votes, said that the new government will be reaching out to the student body. “We will be targeting increased participation in student life by the broader student body,” said Papandrikopoulos. The new Student Government will lobby with the administration to satisfy student demands for such things as more food outlets and more social events on campus. “Students will receive the response they deserve,” said Dimitris Boukas, the new Student Government secretary.
